2nd March 2019 - Talking and Thinking Floorbooks Level 2 - A toolkit for planning (Aberdeen)
Date: Saturday, 2nd March 2019
Time: 09:30 – 15:30
Venue: Kingswells Out of School Club, Unit 3 Kingswells Village Centre, Aberdeen, AB15 8TG
This course builds upon the level 1 course, exploring in greater depth the methodologies and theory behind Talking and Thinking Floorbooks™, Talking Tubs™, 3-Dimensional Mind-Maps, the Talking and Thinking Tree™ and Learning Stories. We therefore highly recommend that you have undertaken Talking and Thinking Floorbooks Level 1.
In this course we deconstruct what really makes a good Floorbook and how this differs from journaling. What should and shouldn’t we be documenting as part of the Floorbooks approach? How do I ensure that my Floorbooks are always of high quality? We invite you to bring along Floorbooks from your own practice (with permission) on this course to critically examine them to improve your future Floorbooks. A key benefit in attending this course is being able to share your own experiences, techniques and stories with colleagues and experts. You will gain one-to-one support in improving your own Floorbook and consultation techniques.
- To analyse your practice in planning, observation and assessment and identify next steps.
- To enhance your practical consultation sessions, helping children to vocalise and identify links in their own learning.
You will be able to:
- Improve the quality of your own Floorbooks and Learning Stories
- Run effective consultation sessions using 3D Mind-Maps, Talking Tubs and Talking and Thinking Trees.
